Sliding sash windows, also known as vertical sliding or box sash windows, are designed to replicate traditional Georgian timber windows that slide open vertically as opposed to casement-style windows that open outwards. Balancers counter the weight of the sashes to provide easy operation and to allow the sashes to remain open in any position. Vertical sliding windows combine all of the benefits of high-performing modern materials and functionality with cherished heritage character and design.Get a quote

Home security is perhaps the most important factor when you want to improve your home. At Massey, we share your concerns which is why we never compromise on the safety and security of our products. Our products undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet high-security standards.
All our sliding sash windows are fitted with high-security multi-point locking systems by Yale and come internally beaded as standard. Our windows have 4 – 6 locking points dependent on the window size.
As windows are fitted on a project-by-project basis, there is no standard cost for double glazing. Get in touch with us for your free no-obligation quote.
Balancers counter the weight of the sashes to provide easy operation and to allow the sashes to remain open in any position. On a single hung window the top sash is fixed and the bottom sash operates vertically.
The energy efficiency of windows is measured using a scale. The lowest rating is G and ratings go up as high as A++. Any new or replacement windows must have at least a rating of C in order to comply with current UK Building Regulations. Here at Massey Windows, all of our windows are able to achieve ratings of A and some can achieve A+.
Replacement windows do not usually require planning permission, especially if the replacements are similar in appearance to the original windows.
If you would like a quote from us here at Massey for your next home improvement project, there a couple of ways you can do this. Simply pick the option that works best for your circumstances and we’ll help you out as best we can.
If you aren’t familiar with double glazing costs, and you’re looking to receive a quick estimate without a house viewing, we would recommend you take some pictures of the areas you’d like a quote on and send them to us. Send these along with some estimated measurements and we’ll be happy to give you an estimated quote.
For a more accurate quote, we can arrange to come and view the property and answer any questions you may have regarding our products and the installation process.
We will take a quick measurement ourselves and then provide you with an exact quote 1 – 2days later.
We are flexible with dates and will book your installation at a time that is convenient for you. Below are some average timescales for our most popular installations:
After placing your order with us, we will look to book in a survey date at a time that suits you. One of the team will come and take a detailed survey of the work and go through the designs and details of all the windows and/or doors being replaced.
After the survey is complete, a copy of our contract, along with the survey, will be left with you to check and sign. Once that is signed, an invoice will be sent via email for 40% of the contract price. As soon as this is payed, we will go ahead and put your order through.
Once the order has had a chance to process, we will be back in touch to book your installation.
The exact time of installation is very difficult to estimate as each job varies greatly.
On average, 4-5 windows can be installed in just one day by one team.
Here at Massey Windows we use just one team per job. From experience, having two teams on one job can lead to too many bodies rushing around, sort of like having too many chefs in one kitchen!
We pride ourselves on delivering an unrushed, clean service with extra care taken every single time. Where certain installations are a little more complicated than others, they will naturally require more time. Our fitters will never rush to finish your job just to get on to the next. Your in good hands with a team from Massey.
A final balance invoice will be sent to you before we arrive to install your windows.
Our installers will show you all the work once finished and how to care for your windows.
Once inspected, the final balance of invoice will need to be paid before the fitter’s leave site.
Once the work is complete and we have received the final balance, we will register your job with FENSA and you will receive your certificates through the post approximately 1 month later. These certificates will state how many window and doors you had installed and at what energy rating. They are crucial for when it comes to selling your home.
If an issue arises after installation, we aim to respond to you within a maximum of 1 day.
Issues will be dealt with promptly and with the same level of care as the installation.
Our timeless sliding sash window range has energy efficiency ingrained within its design. Retaining the original charm of traditional timber windows, our modern sliding sash replacement windows dramatically maintain and conserve energy within homes across the East of England, saving homeowners money on their heating bills.Find out more
